Auscultating : Vet Sport 2016

I was literally too busy to be bothered about posting for the past 2 months, but I'm just gld I cna make one entry today.

So Vet Sport in the final year! Not exactly the last one for me, but it was the last one with my favorite batch of vet students.

This year, I've finally make my way into sports other than Basketball; because everyone else was too busy with rotations in the hospital wards.

Participating in the Footsal and Bola Baling events was quite a rewarding experience. Everyone was happy for me to be the goal keeper for both games, simply because I have the longest limbs and highest surface area in the batch. Being said, I'm proud to keep our record at only losing to 2 batches; when we were looking at losing all.

Had a lot of fun sweating and playing with my ex-roommate as well, not to forget the enthusiasm and teamwork we had within our batchmates for the great games we had.

Fast forward to another weekend, Basketball totally thrashed my body. I had to play for 2 batches, DVM 2016 and 17 because both batches didn't have enough players. Well, I'm not exactly the best asset among both teams; I was needed to fill in the blanks as well as being the tanker to knock down opponents. Nevertheless, the games were good.

Think Basketball was the end of that weekend? Apparently not. The organizers have decided to put 2 of the most energy draining sports in one day; making only 3 hours for us to recuperate from the damage done in the morning.

Tug-o-war have been DVM2016's favorite sport simply because we KNOW we can win. It's like OUR game, despite it being brute force with minimal strategy or skill requirement. Saying that, it was as expected that we won with a breeze. It took us probably an average of 2 minutes *I think* to take down all other DVMs. Some suggested that the juniors were giving way to seniors, but I'm sure our weight and strength weren't to be underestimated. Well, we got first place, at least for this sport.

On the finale of Vet Sport 2016, I took part also in the last Cheerleading performance in the faculty. We literally aimed for the 1st place for this event as well; because we know its OUR event. We had the best choreographer, best music, best dance moves and well, the best enthusiasm. One of the lecturer too said that he was glad he made it because our performance literally cheer people up.
I am proud to be in this team because everyone put in effort despite being busy in rotation; our choreographer had to come in every night to guide us after 12 hours in the wards, just to keep us pushed and motivated.

Well, Vet Sport has always been the platform to pull people closer, between batches as well as within batches. For this last vet sport, we definitely have seen more than stronger bonds than we ever had before; and I'm really glad I was there throughout the 1 month long event.

Next up, Majlis Silaturahim 2016!

Buffetting : Ending 2014

I'd figure I should do this now and get back to my finals cramming before the 4.0 just fly out of my lap.

2014, has been a long year. I think I grew up emotionally a lot this year, because of so many things happening with so many parties getting involved in my life. I would say I grew at some point, managing things is now a little different while I have made several bold moves along the way.

January 2014:

The semester ended with another wedding in-line which my cousin brother had with me being the driver cum bridegroom brigade*or is there another term for this?* Nothing much except for the fact that a lot of our cousins in our generation is slowly heading towards the next stage of their lives in building a family and being parents themselves. Responsibility much?

February 2014:

3 weeks stuck in the breeder chicken farm in the middle of Karak was crazy. Daily morning shower with water as cold as ice and being completely naked in front of the foreign labor was, just something I probably will avoid forever. However, the nights spending to watch The Little Nyonya, trying the fill the gaps in between egg collection during work and the moments killing each other in the dorm with the girls were just fun.

March 2014:

Getting back to the faculty in this time of the year means Vetsports and Vet Dinner. After all the heavy work last year its time for my batch to chill out this year. Our batch is pretty famous for our lack of skills in sports, but we still do very great in tug-o-war, cheer leading as well as indoor games. Vet Dinner was pretty quaint this year, but only a few of us attended simply because we had to as directors and presidents of various interest clubs in the faculty.

April 2014:

This was a very special month no doubt. Apart from Majlis Silaturahim which my batch definitely have done a splendid job as the organizer with me being the crazy Chinese vampire, I took a bold step to fly and meet T in Chiang Mai; with my interest of wildlife practical as well.

Spending time, cuddling for the first time, had my first kiss taken away all in the same week fueled the happy hormones in my body. I was actually living the dream relationship I thought I never could have. At the same time, I was also glad I was able to be part of T's life.

May 2014:
It become the worst month of the year. I had plenty of unnecessary commitments in clubs which I never begin to imagine I would join. The last call was for T to drop in a bombshell of all days Wesak day to break up with me. This is probably the worst Wesak I had with immense anger and fear clogged up in the whole afternoon. I was alone because I had no one to talk to, and thank goodness Biolexus was there to hear out before I implode. On the same night, I took the bold move and became the president of the club I never imagined I would.
On the contrary, my sister too moved into the next stage of her life and got married as well. Talk about double blow. But it was a good thing because it became the very tool that changed my relationship with my family as well.

June 2014:

Ending yet another semester means to step into another practical. 3 weeks of practical in the goat farm was pretty fun, as they are really cute yet annoying. Although I know less from the other girls because of my academic year, I proved myself to be an asset in restraining the animals while learning plenty about the debridement, artificial insemination and general management for a typical meat goat farm. The relationship between the girls and I definitely flourished even more, as we had the same problem with the drama source of our practical.

July 2014:

The month seemingly spent a lot on relaxing and enjoying life. The practical by the east coast with the Turtle Sanctuary was just soothing and mentally relaxing. Although the strolls at night can be a pain in the ass because of the long hours and cold weather, not to mention sand flies killing our feet, it was a great place to take our minds off hectic life of the urban areas with a decent amount of jobs to be done like getting rotten eggs out of the hatchery. A good time to relax, but definitely can't be my whole life.

PS: I forgot the most important thing happened this month. I became an uncle!

August 2014:

August is probably the crazies month with a lot of flights in and out of the airport! Again, spending my birthday out of the country, this time it was Sri Lanka! Its the Vetsoul annual trip again and it was definitely worth every sen and second spending our quality time there. Stubby was a great hose, while her dad probably forked out thousands of USD to make sure we are actually enjoying our trip.

A week back from Sri Lanka, 8 of us headed to Chagar Hutang for yet another turtle sanctuary. A different group with a different managerial system, its pretty exciting to see how 2 different entities manage a same species of ecosystem. It is obvious UMT had better management and funding, but Cherating is probably very much restricted by the federal government policies.

September 2014:

A new academic year begin where I stepped into my official 3rd year. Thinking that it would be much of a less burdening semester I was wrong, because being a president of a new club is not easy, AT ALL. We had to go all out to establish contacts, get into the good side of all equestrian entities out there, trying to work with the resources we have to develop our members; things are just not easy at all. But with perseverance and support from the high committee, the club managed to pull over with our first work with Selangor Turf club in the International Horse Show 2014
October 2014:

Wrapping up several commitments this month, I am pretty surprised I'm still on track with the lectures and information in class. I spend a hefty 3 days in Bangkok earlier on for the APVC 2014 in the quest to get more knowledge and exposure on the veterinary side in our region; which turned out to be splendid.

On the other note, Dogathon 2014 managed to break the Malaysia Book of Record in achieving 1200 dogs as the largest dog gathering in Malaysia! Great work to be direct mentor of the co-directors, and I'm sure they have churned a lot of effort in succeeding this achievement!

November 2014:

Mundane month with a lot studies and birthday celebrations; making me to have more posts this month anyway. Did a lot of thinking and planning for the practicals in 2015, making me having access to Japan and Thailand, hopefully with a lot of knowledge gained back home. A crazy little thing happened in the mundane month is probably the theft of my wallet. That probably sucked up the whole month

December 2014:

Contrary to November, although the month was filled with tests and assignment deadlines, plenty of events and outings were thrown around my life. Christmas season fun was everywhere, though I actually celebrated Christmas not on the day itself.

These celebrations too make me realize, I have managed to get the best of both worlds. Vet souls, and Kaki Jalan. It is a blessing truly, because I never imagined I would be able to attain friendship crossing both academic years so strong.

PS: Another wedding this year, I guess my friendship with Queen probably will go on until life ends in both our sides; only if my parents would stop assuming I'm actually seeing her romantically.

2014 definitely was good, and crazy.

I was lucky to have spent time with T.

I was lucky to have people being there when T broke up with me.

I was lucky to have people aiding me with academics and clubs.

I was lucky to have my niece coming into my family, patching up those holes I have with my family.

I was lucky to not stay in the limbo of losing T, now back up and moving again.

I was lucky to just be safe, well and happy always; even though there were multiple occasions when my blood pressure could have killed me.

Now, to get back to finals.

Buffetting : Ending 2013

Well, its about what every blogger is going to post about ain't it? 2013 has been sweet, bitter, sour and lotsa spiciness throughout the year. So let's take a flash back on what happened in every month in 2013:

January: Noticing that I'm actually finally back in the saddle of vet school, ending my first semester back again in vet school. It has been a nightmare roller-coaster struggle trying to get back to this saddle; and my first semester has indeed very well been spent. My relationship with the coursemates became so much closer; only to realize this is going to be short-lived. The club trips, Vetsoul trips, as well as our very own Vetcamp, has certainly bonded us in ways beyong imagination.

February: More bonding took place because of all the intense faculty activities which require all of us to stick in together in working for a better reputation of our batch. At some point, I swear the second semester was all about bonding for the whole batch. One incident took toll on me the most was when the 2nd chances got back together; giving me quite an impact. It wasn't a problem before in semester 1, but it became an issue because I had to be extra careful around her now; as we were working very closely as the Co-directors. However, we resolved our issues when I opened up to her about T; which I'm glad I did because that helped clear things between us for better efficiency in working Dogathon.

March: The semester never ended with bonding, pretty much all the events are cramped in one full semester. The vet dinner and vet sport events were crazy simply because our batch was the one organizing it. Every single manpower matters. The dinner turned out to be fantastic while we actually won overall champion for Vet Sport; with a round holder for the Bashir Cup; the cup named after our former dean.

April: April went on with several outings and events also; the last faculty event namely Majlis Silaturahim  which challenges the vet students which creativity and cultural experiences; instead of submerging ourselves in the sea of delocalized medical books all year long. I swore we could have won the Ali Cup; the cup named after the professor initiating the event, but the judging system this year thinks otherwise.

May: Mundane, but stuffs happened too. The most significant event is probably what I'd actually knew about the Best bud, and we talked it out as an adult. I feel like that whole part of best bud life, I totally have missed it out. It has been 4 fucking years he've been there; I didn't bother to ask nor care about that part of his life. It made me feel really bad, because I don't even dare to say I know him well anymore. Things have been going well until today; what I hope is things will get better, for both of us.

June: Filled with practicals. I've been to pig farm, chicken farm, and cattle farm crossing 3 different states throughout the practicals. Ending the 4th semester in UPM was pretty heavy, but it made me realized that; I don't have much time with the previous batch, and there is this need to bond better with the next junior batch. Wake up call much?

July: The practicals ended in a month's time, probably the longest one among my friends because I took 2 weeks of cattle farm practical. What has impacted most in this month was the fact that I might not be looking into the livestock industry as I look at before. I have been awarded the "typical city boy" title, and I would like to honor that; because I simple work best in a city setting. This practical has certainly made me think twice about my career outcome in the livestock industry.

August: Needless to say, it has been the most magical month for me. I'd probably need to set it as a month to be worshiped because of the nature of the month to me. I spent my first birthday overseas, something which I have longed to do since the dawn I set eyes on Japan because I wanted to have my tertiary education outside Malaysia; I failed, but spending it in Chiang Mai on the Queen's birthday was downright awesome. The Chiang Mai conference and trip was definitely enlightening, changing my views on Thailand forever; while I was luck enough to have met T there. It has been the best August ever, and I guess my birthday present, best one ever is to have met T

.
same ol hint, T is in here

September: Stepping back into the university again after the semester break was different; simply because I've finally experienced the life outside of university during a long break for once. Juggling between life with T, trying to sort out everything for Dogathon as well as stepping down as the student rep; not to mention academics, everything was like a roller coaster ride in September. Surviving September 2013, was really a challenge.

October: DogathonTM 2013 is definitely the highlight. An event which our whole batch spent 1 whole year to prepare. The largest dog gathering in Malaysia, no joke man. It was a success, although I swear I was going to break down when it rained like cats and dogs 4am in the morning; the sun manage to shine in at 7am to make the whole Bt Ekspo a blazing oven throughout the day. Luck was really on our side. No regrets in taking up the role as the Co-director;and I couldn't have picked the best team; my whole batchmates DVM 2016.

November: Stepping down from SRC, Relieving role as Co-director and 4 core subjects had made my life a lil dainty, light and lost. The thing that I was given time to do most was, preparing for the transition. Of course I had more time to drool over T, but T wasn't free due to examination constraints. I've also made a bold decision in getting a plane ticket to Chiang Mai on April 2014 for a practical, and to meet T for Songkran. People out there, you know what Songkrans mean to the circle ait?

December: Settling all the matters aside in November, December was the time for me to connect more with my friends, family as well as T. I didn't have much time to get my body into shape because my back is still on treatment, but I certainly have made lots of connections. Seeing that I will have more time in the future semesters with my loose schedules, I should totally reconsider going back home on weekends. It's not like anyone would need me to be around anymore, since everyone is pre-occupied with their loved ones and all.

In a nutshell, 2013 has been a great year.

A year which I have managed to live and transitioned; giving me enough time and preparation to move on to my next phase in life;

A phase without workload to serve others,
A phase with a person matters a lot to me,
A phase which I can focus a lot more on the art and practice,
A phase with more self-discovery and enrichment.

2014, time for the next phase of my life.

How was your 2013?

Buffetting : Course Night 2013

The theme this year was "Gangster and Nerd"

Something which I had a lot of problem trying to get an outfit for. I've been gangster all the way since, forever for my size and pattern.

Prior to the dinner I managed to drop by KLCC for promo stroll in my Fred outfit in promoting DogathonTM 2013.

Which I found my look after I took a round in Uniqlo.

As a school boy hahaha. Somehow I kinda dig this look. The whole outfit would have been better,

If I had a better looking pants to go with it.

So as like how previous year's course nights go, performances over one after another. This is the first year, my 3rd, which I finally do not have to do anything anymore in the night; being the OC, checking this and that bla bla bla.

Good thing definitely, so I can enjoy the night, the performance and definitely the food.

Can you spot the nerdiest one among all? Apparently he is also the smartest one among all trolololol

Well, I have to say I DID enjoy the night, but like all narcissists, my batch's one definitely tops it all.

The night's main intention is to celebrate the final years, and welcoming the first. So the presentations revolved really around them the most.

The 3rd and 4th years, well are predominantly just there to support the 2nd years, and celebrate the final years respectively.

I had limited close to zero interaction with the first years, since my junior is not around. So I shall let the pictures to do the talking then:

sisters forever?

bros for life?

direct buddies!

With the couple from Curse of Dogathon

Last but not least, a finale:

I'm still wondering which year is my final course night year? Year 5 or Year 6? Should I be the emo kid skipping either year? Or should I just be the suave Tempus attending both, allowing the juniors to know my legend?

Hmm, skeptical.
