Buffetting : My Toy Story
Still remember how you held your last toy in the air, waving it around and imagining how those cool lasers shoot from the techy guns of your favorite hero?
Still remember when was the time you shove every toy you have into the bath tub and spend hours in the bathroom to satisfy your play time?
Still remember where you have chucked your last toy into?
You got it~ Toy Story 3 was just EPIC!
I swear I'd almost wept even watching the first scene itself!
Watching one of my childhood fantasies and reliving it with a cinema 3/4 packed with people who literally lived with the same fantasies back in the 90s and 00s is just plain nostalgic.
It's like elementary class all over again~
And this is also the reason why I feel teens with the same age as mine were and still are eager to watch this movie, simply because we are just like Andy.
In TS3(not to be confused with The Sims 3) Andy is going for college and his toys felt neglected, except for old-time Woody because Andy was planning to bring him to college. Even though he planned to hit the toys up in the attic instead of sending them to the yard sales, eventually the toys(including Woody) ended in lil-sweet Bonnie's possession.
My toys, probably ended up in my store room, a similar storage system as an attic in the States.
Some ended up as decor around my house and some ended up with pieces of the toys all over the house when the cousins turn up.
I was real touched when the scene Andy gave his toys to Bonnie, but when I thought over it again, this is not going to happen in OUR era.
Why would I say so?
Children today are blessed(or cursed) with the end 00s gizmos and gadgets like NDS, PS,Wii or some even had Laptops at the age of 7.
I bet those high-quality graphically-programed video games beats the ol-loosen up plastic toys and figurines.
Fine give or take, same still do appreciate the significance of the toys. But most of them, I'm sure they wouldn't want MY old toys unless they go through some factory make over or something after the wear and tear in my hands over the years.
Guess my toys would have different endings if I were Andy.
But still, over the drama, PIXAR did a great job with the humor. I mean, Buzz in Spanish MODE? That's something new! Everyone in the cinema practically laugh their ass off when he sudden went "Senoritta" and all!
But, I LOVED him, the scenes he had with Jessie, it was just exhilarating!
And all the other hilarious moments throughout;the 1st animation Day & Night before TS3 started, Mr Potato's new body, old Buster, Sunny Side's other side... PIXAR is just a studio filled with geniuses!
But what really hit was seeing Andy heading to college. It's like reality check : You are entering adulthood, ALSO.
Well, everyone enters adulthood eventually, its just when and how you are going to deal with it. I guess I'm only going to deal with it after 30, seeing how I'm still indulging in Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Digimon till today..
Anyway, wanna know my last toy?
Turbo Rangers' Rescue Megazord!!!! Each rangers' zord can turn into individuals before they combine into a huge mecha.
After I work, I swear I will continue my collections from ebay. Why? Because my face and heart resonates, as a kid~
So, what's your toy story?
PS: Holiday officially ends tomorrow, this time I swear I will chuck my laptop off limits until my STPM ends~ meaning, no updates till november!!!
So, bye bee soon-to-be-dead blog~
