Buffetting : JLPT N2

Well since I've taken JLPT N3 Last year, of course which I've passed, all the more reason and courage for me to take up N2 this year.

However, I was a lil over ambitious thinking that I can cope with N2 and university life and also an on-going Japanese class.

Which means traveling back to SJ from Serdang every Wednesday and Saturday for 3 months.

Sheesh, what's worse the work load packs up from 3 different programs, I can barely finish the work for each.

What's worst, apparently from 11 JLPT N2 class members, only 3 members are taking, and also only 3 members were from Advance level 6 and below. The other 8 members were like I don't know, Advance 14 or 15?

Yet, well we survived the preparatory course and the N2 test was okay. Better than expected, I guess language is still my thing.

Well, everything which requires practices everyday and taking up unintentionally is my thing anyway.

So the results is going to be out on March. Cross my fingers.

Buffetting : Course Taken via 300th post

Wow can't believe I'd only hit 300 post by now.

I guess I can't really keep up with blogging when I'm busy with other stuffs.

Any hows, the first and last semester in UPM as a DVM student was pretty much satisfying, and everyday was really spent with a meaningful manner, unlike post STPM days.

The courses I was given, and somehow picked was as below:

1- VPP 3020 Veterinary Biochemistry

The basic biochem, mostly related to the bodily chemistry of organisms. Pretty much the biology brought to a university extent of STPM Biology. The earlier chapters were peanuts, but Lipid Metabolism got me suffocated. Had fun gaining knowledge from this course, probably going to be useful to me as a Med student.

2- VPK 3090 Intro to Vet as Profession

The supposingly "brainwash" course. Of course the practicals were really fun. Hands on with ruminants, felines and canines were a real good exposure, and knowing their TPRs was a great pleasure. At least, I will not have any problems dealing with excess "messy" conditions if I were to take up Med, since I've been through worse. I had fun memorizing the breeds' names, getting to know how vet and move on with their career, and geez even have fun to differentiate between WELFARE and RIGHTS. Definitely was a great course. Going for a practical in Zoo Taiping after CNY even though I'm enrolling in Monash, cause I do love the work as a vet.

3- SHW 3002 Animal Agriculture

The BEST course I would say, cause we had the BEST lecturer, Dr. Sum Sug. Google her name, she had multiple published work and achievements. Sheesh she is RETIRING as 30+! How cool is that! Medic officers only START earning at 30+! Fark man.
Agriculture and how animal affects human totally made even more sense for me to take vet. The importance of agriculture behind man activities, the changes required, vets' roles, animal feeds, animal welfare and their how factors can affect their production. Vet needs to know more than JUST our biochem, physio and surgery knowledge. Economics, consumerism and research is all in our head.

4- ANT 2001 Society and Changes

I had a HARD time explaining to my mom what SOCIETY I'm studying about. Apparently the term "society" doesn't ring any bell to her. I had fun in this course also because of the lecturer. Man, he's the BEST lecturer in Malaysia, even received an Award for it. Shatar Abdul Rahman, google him and still there are plenty of published work. The changes of society and vivid examples to explain the theories, gosh I had fun scoring and writing my test paper!

5- BBI 2417 Public Speaking

Apparently students with MUET Band 5 and above have to also take an English course in our university years in order for us to graduate. As if our English ain't not competent. Well, I also had fun in this course. I mean, I love to stand up and talk. The comrades I made during the course was fun too, and there were also hotties to be checked out; Korean, Malaysian bowler and Chinese try-too-hard-er. The lecturer was kinda young, and class goes out of control most of the time, but I guess he managed to pull it through. The essence of public speaking, theoretical part was okay, but I barely follow them XD
My last speech was really last minute, 1 day before the presentation; but the lecturer did have fun and the only problem I had, well the 2 problems I had were a lil fast, sometimes a lil too excited. He likes my word stresses and drama effects. Well, I should have taken performing arts.

6- BBD 2400 German 1

I took up this course out of, well, really out of impulse. I was really thinking that vet wasn't my thing and it is really just 1 semester, and I dropped Management course which was a compulsory course and took up this language. Really liked it, just like English. What's worse, my affinity for languages is really strong, at one point I was thinking for shifting course to take up linguistics! Hah, but like all professions, a deep understanding in one field is necessary, while languages can be perfected as an extra-curricular subject. The lecturers were fun, and very demanding. But I liked it, well maybe because I score all the time haha. Shit, finals is coming and I have not read any crap yet. Ich bin traurig.

There are 2 more university course, Ethnic relationship and Islamic&Asian Civilization, but they both sucked. Everyone takes them just for the sake to graduate.

So far, well those are the courses I've went through 14 weeks. It's the 15th week, and finals is next week. Although they might seemed trivial since I'm enrolling in Monash, but I'd keeping my status as "LEave of Absence", just incase I rebel against my family's will to take up vet if I hate Med.

PS: My sis said vets have no prospects at economy crisis. I'm wondering how legit is that. Won't it affect doctors in 2017 too? With the numbers of doc rising, hmmm....

Buffetting : Course Mates V2

So we had the guys on the last post, now to the girls I'm close with.

Honestly speaking I'm close to all, its only 25 chinese around we have to.

But there's only 6 who I'm working very closely with, with most courses and practicals in the smae group. So lets start with the usual 4, where 1 came from STPM, and the other 3 from Matrics.

The 1st STPM-er, Jane aka Lady Boss.

The eldest among the girls, and the class rep, she have had to settle on lotsa stuffs and the girls do respect her for that. Yet, thanks to the work load as class rep, she had have to quit because of the lack of time she can spend on studies.

Though that allowed her to network among the seniors and course mates around.

Witted, smart and responsible, Jane gets most things done very fast. She is equally smart in utilizing human resources, almost asking me to handle lotsa stuffs earlier on thanks to my stunts.

She's not the good looking type, really nerdy type once she have the specs on, but at least she knows how to do around the contact lens and hairdo.

Weirdly, she is one of the ladies which I've sensed some affection towards me, constantly asking me to stay on vet course.

With stints like not minding have a "in a relationship" status with me, asking me to fake up relationships with her, em, yea you get the drill.

But it might just be me, ya know the alter male ego, thinking too much about these stuffs.

Having most things done her way, something I'm impressed about her is her swiftyness and no pushy washy attitude.

"Don't wanna help? Fine I'm okay with it. I have others who will. "

I wouldn't say I know her very well, probably because I can't think of anything about her yet.

Next up, Hotty.

Hotty is the 3rd one

Naah, she's not the hot type of girl. She's probably the most baby looking around, as a future housewife material. She even looks like one now to me haha,

But it doesn't she ain't hot girl material either. She was named Hot over her Hokkien name. Those who knows, just keep it yourself then.

Being one year younger, you can see the difference in maturity and she sees the world in a different perspective.

An optimist, she always tells me to see things on different ways to loosen my stress out. Of course I truly appreciate her views, while sometimes I "lecture" her in some matters in life which I have been through, widening her views from the naive views she might have.

Hot has kinda of the low self esteem aura from her, making her the typical 小女人, weak lady appearance, though she might have another say herself.

I'm sure given time and suitable packaging, Hot might easily be the lady everyone loves.

Now lets get to the ecstatic duo, Big Sis and Heart.

Big Sis some how was given because of her similar authoritative behavior over the bunch when we were having out course night practices.

Loud, confidence and the typical leader among flocks and everyone pretty much salutes to her enthusiasm and also snappiness in getting things in order. The course night was successfully organized very well thanks to her, and also Lady Boss. Lady Boss in the behind scenes while Big Sis takes care of the crowd.

Loud as she is, she never hesitate to tease everyone around, cheering people up when people seemed down, or just crack some lame and really stupid joke just to break the silence. Having her around is like having another Wind around. But the chemistry between Big sis and Monkey is much intense.

There was once rumors spreading between how I was so-to-speak attracted to Big Sis at a particular time, which I didn't notice myself until people were pointing around. Composing myself in the shower, I know she ain't the one. Pfft, Du-uh. That period kinda winded us apart for a while, cause before that we were exchanging, *choke* ointments haha.

Anyway, Big Sis is one hard girl also. Sea wanted to prank her once with the calls and all, but she got so hyped up and banged Sea right into his face in the Cafe.

Utter silence and awkwardness kicked in. But, everything turned out to be ok~

Last but definitely the best, Heart!

I can't really think of any analogies to put her into, cause normally I just call her by her name. Probably Mdm Polar bear because of the chemistry WE built for her and Polar Bear.

Heart is the typical girl next door. Not the super beautiful type, but her looks are comfortable enough for me to tell her almost everything. Although she is a year younger, I see her as equal for some reasons, unlike Big Sis and Hotty who I constantly lecture.

Probably because Heart is matured by nature. She never wish for anyone to have confrontations or arguments. She'd rather she be the one who gets screwed, at least everyone else is at peace. Something which she has in common with Polar Bear, from where I sees it.

Like Hotty, she have also some values of patience which I do admire, as I'm lack of patience and hot-tempered all the time. Heart constantly engage herself in conversations, and she teases as good as Big Sis as well, but most of the time she knows when to just let go and follow the flow.

The Cina gang is probably consist of these 4 and the Guys. I do have another gang of girls, but they are the a lil more Barat ones XD

So that's a wrap for the peeps I've pretty much spent the 70% of the time in UPM. They are great assets, and will be also in the near or far future. I'd just hope the dilution of friendship between me and them happens like the High school friends.

I'd guess High School was just a normal ground once you've step into varsity life.

It's as if High School friends were nothing, and so insignificant, other than a few ones who I'm still keeping in touch till today.

Well, that's the girls for me, and Ji Muis (姐妹)Forever!

Buffetting : Course Mates

So we have this gang who we hang out with all the time, the Cina gang.

Apparently I'm considered the most "Barat" aka Westernized around.

I mean, people actually didn't understand my English.

Other than the Banana in our Cina gang.

The worst, my room mate freakin thought I was a banana when we first met in the room after I've received the keys from the university registrar.

Same goes to everyone around the whole residential college and university because of my English.

Someone actually commented my English was the standardized one, and was very impressed.

I was like, oh okay, I can't even survive Spelling Bee. Yes I did, just to get merits, something which I will post again.

When I blurted out Mandarin, the reaction remained the same as what it happens in Subang:
Crowd: You know CHINESE??!!!
Me: It's MANDARIN. And yes, I speak it everyday at home
Crowd: You not BANANA Meh?
Me: I have one huge one between my legs, but not one. Do I have it imprinted on my face? Crowd: You talk like one, act like one, even LOOKs like one. Me: Ok, at least I don't look like Cinabengs out there.

Enough about me, so lets start off with housemates!

Glad enough for me, all of them were Chinese, though the other Malay guys staying across our unit is even cleaner than us, and have hotter bodies too! Haha all we have are Nerd, skinny monkeys and polar bears.

So lets start with my roommate, who I will name Sea.
Sea's the one at the far right

Sea is the typical CINA beng. He looks like one, dress like one even talks like one.

Long hair, T-shirt and khakis, speaking really loud across the phone; all the traits I put as a Cinabeng.

Lately I found out he snores at extreme tiredness!

He is the techy guy around, knowing a wide spectrum of knowledge, ranging from tech to automobile to politics and some economics. That's because he've been working everywhere, as Digi promoter, computer promoter, admin in Singapore, and his family owns a Electrical Appliance outlet.

You get the picture right?

We do have debates over things and issues, which normally I win because of my authoritative-ity, but he have his equal "Big man" aka 大男人 over the other coursemates and his girlfriend.

Yea he is taken, apparently his mate is quite decent looking too, which I never imagined they'd make it before XD. Hopefully they work out well till the point I become his best man brigade.

Definitely the nerdiest among the non-nerdy. His way to study is cramming, memo memo memo. Wouldn't work out in the long run in University though.
However, he knows when to have fun, at least.

That's Sea, in my room. Lets go to the 2nd room; where we have Gummi Bear and Wind.

Wind is the Mr Healthy in the house.
He reads health mags, takes in fruit everyday, good breakfast, chews his food and eat even slower than girl, and he even brought a dumb bell along to our dorms.

However, he is quite the soft type, he speaks with a soft tone and is the target for our daily stripping regime. He is taken though, but his girlfriend is much more the dominant type. Quite the guy, he really care for his mate a lot.

Apparently his mate's father got cancer and passed away, and he was calling her every night, even went all out to send the girl friend to UMK, Univesiti Malaysia Kelantan to her dorms and all because no one else in the house could.
I would like to have someone to be that caring and loving to me.

Pieces, I had to move everything myself from Subang to Serdang, no one but my CRV was with me on the first day.

Back to Wind, he studies at his own pace, but having him around loosen things up. I'm very impressed with his character.

Now to his roommate, Gummi Bear, because of his similar appearance with the icon.

Pandai pandai guess la ok?

He's the Banana, I'm the "other" Banana.

He takes life at his own pace, which I didn't really fancy earlier on. But along the way, the good pacing slowed me down a lil, allowing me to see things clearly. For that, I'm very grateful and know of his values as good friend.

He's also the other gentle giant, he have yet to have much problems till today, and he is definitely one of the fun factor around, cause he plays and mingle so well with his room mate Wind! Haha they create hilarious sparks in the dorm, from stripping each other's pants and body slamming each other in their beds.

I can see that he will be a great vet. He has this warmth for people and animals equally, and he knows his stuffs. He still takes things at his pace, but its working out really well for him.

Thanks to him our unit actually adopted a male kitten in our dorm, though it wasn't suppose to happen but who cares the cats lurk like flies in our cafe.
I've yet to really get close to him, but so far these traits were the ones.

I've found out from Gummi Bear.
Oh he is also a GREAT dancer and singer too! He is 170cm with 85kg, but he can SPLIT!

I CAN'T SPLIT!

To the 3rd room! We have Monkey and Kid/Bos indicus! They are the desklamp duo, in which their room lights were never on, but their desk lamps are always on.

Monkey was named after his skinny face which resembles Lee Chong Wei.

And he really looks like a monkey to me, so I called him monkey haha.

Monkey was a STPM leaver like me, and he is the study and play evenly guy. He would be one of the first to start stripping Wind off, and everyone else joins. That's because Wind ALWAYS taunts Monkey.

People who didn't know Wind having a girlfriend would really think these two are a pair because the way they act and play around with each other.
Hardworking and responsible, Monkey would be one of the 1st person I thought of when it comes to dealing with stuffs and projects.

Though he is quite the flexible and depending type, most of the time things will work out well around him, I think.
He is good around with girls, malay and chinese only,Pete knows what happened to Indians, cause he teases and mingles at a good pace around them.

Everyone likes him, of course I do too.
Definitely one of the Cinabengs, avid badminton fan, quite the skinny guys also. But he makes an awesome friend. He knows when to come and go, and have quite the great blur facial expression too! Like Wind, Monkey's also the life of the house.

Now to Kid/Bos indicus.

Explanation time~

I was given the title Boss because of my authoritative and so-to-speak stunts around the college. Hence, I take charge over almost everything, university or outside university.

However, Kid was walking quite closely with our Course Rep, Jane aka Lady Boss,老板娘, Mandarin term for lady boss, he was also given Boss.

Yet, to differentiate us, we were named after the two different species of cattles we learned in Animal Agriculture.

Bos indicus are the cattles in tropical countries, while bos taurus in the temperate.
Since indicus is skinnier and taurus is meatier, hence our names.

Kid was given kid by me because of his juniority around. He is the only 19 and matriculation guy in our unit, hence I call him Xiao Di Di all the time.

Kid is the quit type, full of surprises. I'll never know when he will join us for the guy dorm crazy moments or when he chooses to spend his own time with other activities. He is mysterious enough for us to not realize he is with 3 girls, using 2 as decoys to distract us to get to his real target. Seriously, what a junior, us 20 years old abangs totally lost out.

Composed, responsible, and surprisingly matured, Kid will always be one of the first person I thought of to be depended on. He never failed me in the earlier days of our course, hence my trust over him.

He's from Sibu, and he's half native, making him a bumiputera. He's okay with his Mandarin, but when it comes to expressing in BM or English, people tends to have problem comprehending him, reducing his efficiency in delivering.
I guess its the problem of staying in Mandarin all the time at home, even in Churches.

Oh yea, did I mention Kid is a strong Christian? Cell nights at Fridays, and Sunday Church is a must. Lord gives him will to go on apparently.

Well, its his faith I would say.
Kid's cool, I have fun around him, and is a very good person to talk to too.

Now that we are done with 3rd room, the 4th and final room, we have Polar bear and THE Nerd.

Polar bear got named after his affection for the same animal, and also his chubby appearance. Seriously he is one cute polar bear, and his voice and speaking style is super cute too! When I mean cute, its the teddy-polar bear cute.

Kuching-ian, polar bear sticks with me and Sea all the time. Probably because 3 of us have great chemistry, and because polar bear can't stand around Nerd.
Great knowledge on Sarawak's politics and geography, polar bear seriously sounds like a matured man when he talks about them.

He's even so good in financial issues, he owns stock shares and solid golds! Probably because of his family background.
His parents own a chicken farm, where he rares his own chickens, though its not all year long. Hence, his superb knowledge over poultry production, and his affection for Vet course.

Polar bear is also similar to Gummi bear, in which he knows when to enjoy life at his own pace. He will be the first person I'd seek for if I were to go for trips and holidays. However, being a 3.92 STPMer means he is also dependable to handle matters.

See, I have one pack of capable hands in my unit!

Though they usually lack a boss to point them around, Me. haha Syok sendiri.

Polar bear loves the classics, chinese songs from the 1950s to 1900s, you name it he has it. Even his CNY songs he played lately sounded like the ones from the black old disks in Malacca.
As "old" as he sounds, I enjoy my time spent with Polar bear, probably the most around him. He is a great friend, ally, and person to talk to.

Heck, he is one genuine friend.

Now to the last, Nerd.

He is the nerd, seriously. He studies all the time, he barely spend time with us, probably just breakfast and dinner.

He comes like a wind goes like a wind.

Heck, he never shower at all in a weeks time, according to polar bear.

Eww.

He is taller than me and so freaking skinny, he'd look like the rapist you see on TVB dramas when he have black eye rings.
I nicknamed him Galah.

He is so nerdy to the point that he studies just to get high marks in exams, seriously. Polar bear made a comment once from me and Nerd's studying pace:

"He studies for hunger for marks. You study for hunger for knowledge. It's so obvious."

How so?

Nerd depends so much on his senior's notes for every single subject without making his own, probably because his brain acts like a hard drive already, and he whines over every single time he had to make his own effort to search for report details, or missed lecture notes from the senior's pile and heck he even whines over new notes the lecturer gave which she didn't to our seniors.

Seriously, just to get high grades in university, as a VET student?
Sorry man, you ain't go far, period NERD.

Correction, I was very inconsiderate and disrespectful when I posted about Nerd. Well, or should I rename, Galah. Galah indeed puts all his heart in studies, and maybe that's his style, just like Sea.

Before I left UPM, we did have a heart to heart chat, in the presence of Wind. Apparently he made a great person to talk things to, and he'd probably had a cooler head than I do, when we discuss matters non-academic related.

I was wrong to judge you.
I was wrong to be inconsiderate.
And I was wrong to put up an attitude towards you.

And I apologize for all the hardship I'd imposed upon you. However, you still need to get closer to the others okay? Go have fun! Take Wind's pants down in my place for another 6 months! If I ever come back, I'd wish to see you still holding hard to your books, and the same time, pull down Wind's pants harder alright?

So that's our unit, D-2-13 K17.

Weird housemates. but thank goodness the other 6 are crazy enough for me. If I had 6 Nerds, I'd die.

Apart from us, there's 1 more Chinese guy in the whole 109 DVM1s. See how endangered we are?

He stays in the 4th floor, and he is 19 years old, and we name him Bo-i, because of his surname Boey.

The first day we met instantly he had marked me down as a person to depend on, though he have much deeper knowledge around UPM grounds, since he was a foundation in agriculture in UPM.

Guess he needed help to reach the Chinese guys in my lot. Oh well, since I'm moving out next sem, he might as well take advantage to move in to stick with the other 7 Chinese guys as a whole.

He is as huge as I am. though I'm taller and more matured. Boey tends to take things in a much more lighter ways, taking shortcuts and all. His grades were so-so, maybe because he hangs out the malays too much. Geez, he was the only Chinese from his batch to get in Vet, understandable.

A former King Scout, Taekwondoe black belt, I'd expect a lot from him. Apparently he lost those skills after a year in foundation.
Oh well. I can talk to him, though he does things his ways because he too have a car around, and he had already know Serdang so well.

The times we hang out is probably for food and movies, of course sometimes for our vet equipments like the coveralls, stethoscopes and practicals.

Not much comment yet, but he is a good guy after a while I've worked with him. Just he needs to be a lil more, committed.

Quite the lovey-dovey type, constantly hunting down next girl friend material.

After the Zoo Taiping Practical, I'm sure he's the lovey-dovey type. Remember, girls don't go for flings, you want flings, get sluts or go to the gym lockers for random gigolo fun time. Long term relationships comes with commitment and time, and believe it or not several heartbreaks before you'd actually know she's the one for you. Take it easy k?

The guys are cool, I'll save the girls for next post.

Buffetting : Affection

Sidetrack from university life, or rather maybe its just all jumbling up together.

I have no idea why, its just at this point of life the idea of relationship keeps on jumping into the picture.

I was, one heck of a person who negates from getting into relationships since forever.

I had studies.

I had activities.

I had work.

Heck I had no confidence.

It was until recently the girls in my course have been telling me how outstanding I am compared to the rest of the current 1st years, well at least among the vet students.

Since there's only 9 guys in the current vet 1st years, the market among same course's opposite sex is obviously larger.

2 are taken, another 2 are very much larger and shorter in size, another 2 more do have their own agendas, perhaps less capable and outspoken like I do, 1 more is still too childish, and the last one is nothing but a studying robot.

So I'm left, single, with car(heck I'm the first year who brought car since the 1st day of university) outspoken, appropriate outlook.

And with that I have also felt some affection radiating from a few of the opposite sex in my course.

Being single for the past 20 years, and still thinking of celibacy till I hit 30, I just couldn't reciprocate these feelings of the girls.

It seemed unfair, to them and myself.

I have yet to get the precise answer to my lifelong partnership, I do not wish to be in their ways in attaining someone who is as good, or perhaps better than I am.

On the other hand, I now started to think of getting into relationships, of course with anyone which allows me to plunge towards without any logic considerations.

Apparently I have yet to met any who I am able to plunge into, just a few picks I see around university who I've probably talk less than 3 sentence to them in my whole life, some perhaps never.

To me, if logic comes into my way, it's not THE one. When it comes to term "love" its gotta be blind and just flushes my head till I go dizzy.

With my level of conscious, I'd probably can only fall in love when I'm with half a bottle of wine down my throat.

Alrighty, lets not think about relationships now, at least not till I'm really prepared for it.

Buffetting : Course Night

Okay I totally will and am going to fail my N2 if I keep up this pace of study.

So after Dogathon's Sunday, the Vet program ain't not letting the freshmen back home yet. So its practically 2 whole months in the vicinity with the seniors and university.

The other Sunday, we had to prepare for Course Night!

Different from normal university events, this is more like a private event for Chinese DVM students where all the 1 -5 years will gather for a dinner. It was suppose to be a welcoming dinner for 1st years, a platform for 2nd years to manage things, and a mini farewell for 5th years. This is also when all the buddy line and families to finally meet up and snap family portraits!

Anyway, that's just the overall, the details however is the performance.

The first years were assigned to tasks by the seniors on their first week. Some were asked to sing, some were asked to draw the reproduction systems and copulation of crocodiles, some were asked to make MVs, some were even asked to make a slide for the love story of their own couples.

As for me, I missed it as I wasn't around for task assigning as I had Jap class. In the end I was assigned to help my room mate out with his Muar Chinese MV because he's a Muarian.

Then, there's a DVM 1 performance.

This was when all the DVM1s had to come together and make out a seemingly mini sketch and series of performances to impress the seniors.

Bad news for us, the 2nd years made a great outcome last year for the previous batch by doing crossdressings, so we had to push ourselves further.

The late nights of performance practices and planning were real bother, but thanks to them managed to nab down 5 kgs to look good enough in my Course Night outfits.

Those nights were also great times for the 1st year girls and guys to bond. We really had a great time spending late nights together, giving each other support and also suggestions to make the whole performance impressive. We really grew closer, and I've made a myself a good company of course mates.

Except for one, nerdy antisocialis, R, who I will explain in the next post.

As for performances, we came up with a small sketch to portray the life as university students along 5 years, with me, naturally as the narrator. Not to say I dislike though, XD

We kicked off with a Zapin,as the morning exercise;(all girls)

Lazy song to show how lazy we can get;(all girls)

Stomp to portray the stupid cafe we have in the residential college;(mixed)

A mini crush story;(a couple)

Bo-beep to seduce the male actor;(all girls)

Jojo love song and make the whole love unrequited,(2 girls)

Ultraman melayu remixed Tik Tok to cheer up the male actor,(all guys)

and at last a slide of DVM5s with us singing Friend.(1st yrs)

We had so little guys we can only afford to have one performance only.

Overall, the seniors were very impressed with our performances, seeing how "creative" and "loose" we have gotten just to go all out and make an impression.

Which was a good thing, though I wasn't the course prince.

Yea, we had this poll to give out tiaras and crowns to the guy and girl in 1st yr and 5th yr to have a pair of Course Prince and Princess; and a pair of Course Queen and Course King.

The price of being the royal pair, the course night next year will be fully handled and managed by them.

Thank goodness, though I'm not going to be around next night.

Due to the late schedule, we barely had time to eat and enjoy the max. We did enjoy taking pictures, making fun of each other and being busy and all; but we wished we had MORE time.

Oh well, beggars can't be choosers eh?

The night end quite abruptly though, but we had fun.

The night ended with us all getting lost from Bangi to Serdang, but thank goodness to one of the mates who had me going to the right direction of Puchong, and we made out way back to college.

Great experience, great bonding, great night.

One of the reason which made me wanted to stay.

Buffetting : Dogathon

Whew, that was another long break form blogging. Thanks to the 3 days holiday with Awal Muharam replacement, I have another 2 days to spare for assignments, exam preps and BLOGGING~

So back to Dogathon! It was like I don't know 2 months ago? And oh well, who cares just freaking blog about it.

It happened on the 2nd Oct(freaking clashed with Adidas run WTHECK??!!!), and geez I'm telling you making the biggest event in UPM, and largest dog assembly in Msia is no joke.

Apparently all DVM1s are signed up automatically as volunteers to help out around the event before, during and after.

And yes, I was somehow selected for one of the programs.

Since the name of the event itself Dog-A-Thon, there's definitely a run prepared, being the 1st and main program of the event.

The run was given a fancy name, Race to the Wonderland, since the whole theme this year was based on Alice in Wonderland.

And heck I was being selected to be the Personal Assistant of the race's programmer.

What's worse, the race uses up the most time to prepare, most man power and guess what? It was the 1st event, and the fastest one to end among all programs.

Record was an hour only.

We spent, I don't know 3 days to prepare it?

my boss with his hauler sorting

Not to mention the previous endless nights trying to get timekeepers, track keepers, tags, mapping out routes, yadda yaddas, that tops up to like a few month's of total prep.

And it ended, in 1 hour.

Oh well, I wonder how much of experience and $$$ we've generated.

Probably not enough to cover costs since we depended lots on sponsors.

Anyway, Dogathon was fun!

From prep to clean up, I totally enjoyed every single process of it, excluding the blisters caused when I hammering the "pacaks" to make tracks along Bukit Expo.

For prep, we started since Friday, and the event was on Sunday.

Most of us did preps our own division, and as for mine was setting up trails and signboards along them, including 5 different obstacles. Plus, lining up flags from sponsors.

Geez sponsors sometimes are cranky.

"I can't see my flags properly!"

"Get the flags in line, they don't look abundant!"

Bla bla blas~ you know the drill.

Trust me, preparing those trails weren't easy, I was still marring the last signboard 5 am on the event itself.

Talk about last minute work.

Then it was the day itself.

People started pouring in 6.30 am, with owh my Gourd so cute doggies!!!!!

From golden retriever to the siberian huskies, my my they all looked to magnificent!

Spotted a few familiar faces here and there, and that includes the CF instructor with his huskies.

A few more, but I guess a celebrity is much easily remembered.

Okay, so back to my work.

Walkie talkie has became but a tool instead of a gadget now. Remembered how we awed over those cool talking shoes without any dialing required? Well, it's so normal in university now.

My job was to stay at 100 meters away from the finishing line, take note of the colors of the incoming runners' tags and notifying the finish line time keepers via talkies.

Yea, seemed to ca-le-fe right? It's important cause we don't wanna mixed up timing and scores for 20 winners. You know how uptight people can get when it comes to placing, we don't exactly have cool time chip system like marathons have.

Oh the work doesn't stop here, I had to sort out the winners and call them one by one to tell them they won with my boss cause I was the PA,

If he's working, I should be working.

However, he rest, I have to work too, cause that's how system works.

Plus, he's attached, I'm not, and heck I'm a first year.

Called the winners, and I had to get them to the NST reporter for each champions of the categories because the Dogathon director wanted me to.

Helped out here and there to clean up, snapped pictures everywhere and mind my own business.

There were other programs too, like Round the Rabbit Hole, Fastest Eating Duo, Mad Hatter's Tea Time, Hail The Queen, Doggies Paw Paw, Catch and Fetch and many more. Just go to Dogathon site to check things out.

Oh yea, pack up.

Spent like 3 whole hours to unscramble everything so that we can return them into the stores and sponsors.

Thank goodness I had a CRV with me to bring things around easily and the seniors were smart enough to rent cars and bikes to ease things around.

One even went up to 6000rpm over a BUMP on the rented Kancil.

Talk about ignorance.

The thing I'd realized during this event was, there are always people who don't bother, and that's a whole large number of them.

The ones who stayed, are sadly ALL Chinese, and its always the same bunch, MY bunch.

The seniors told us that subsequent years the same thing will happen, and we should always know that silently in our mind, not thinking negatively about the other DVMs, 1-3 who never really partake the event.

It's logical to do that, but ethically, it there anything positive to think about people who don't even care?

Well, its normal, even outside university grounds. Those who devote will shine and ultimately gain most. That's what we are certain of.

And of course, those who stay are the ones I'm in company with, and the best among all. At least I know I'm in good company always.

Conclusion, I had fun, it was a great experience. I don't mind taking part again next year, too bad I will be an outsider next year, instead of a Vet student.

They have this event on every year, so dog lover bloggers out there, go support okay!
